Cardiology Services
Our staff and board-certified physicians use the latest imaging technology to provide
precise diagnoses and treatment for cardiovascular diseases. Saint Peter's cardiac
facilities include three diagnostic testing suites; two cardiac catheterization
laboratories also used for peripheral angioplasties and pacemaker implantation;
and a 31-bed Telemetry Unit for adults who need heart monitoring. Our Telemetry
Unit and outpatient cath lab use the principles of "healing environment" design,
which is proven to help patients relax and recover more quickly.
Saint Peter's is licensed to provide
emergency
angioplasty, a minimally invasive procedure designed to open life-threatening
coronary blockages and restore normal blood flow to the heart.
Other state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional services include:
- Echocardiography, including transthoracic echo, transesophageal echo (TEE) and stress
echo
- Electrocardiogram (EKG)
