Diabetes Care and Control Center
Diabetes self-management education is the hallmark of care at the Saint Peter's
Diabetes Care and Control Center (DCCC).
Private counseling sessions tailor a plan of care to each individual's needs, and
outpatient group classes are held to help reinforce good self-management practices.
Our multidisciplinary staff includes:
- Board-certified endocrinologists
- Certified diabetes educators
- Licensed clinical social workers
- Registered dietitians
- Registered nurses
Together, our team provides diagnosis; education; medication, including the insulin
pump;
nutrition counseling; diagnostic continuous
monitoring; exercise counseling; and psychological counseling. We also offer a full
range of support services through the many specialties available at Saint Peter's,
such as
wound care, podiatry and dialysis.
The DCCC is located in
Saint Peter's Center
for Ambulatory Resources (CARES) building.
Diabetes and Endocrinology Services
The Center for Diabetes Self-Management promotes among children the concept of parent-supervised
self-care through education, medication (including the insulin pump) and emotional
support. The state-designated Regional Center for Inherited Endocrine Disorders
provides testing, treatment, and education related to congenital hypothyroidism
and congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). The Center also provides evaluation and
management of puberty, growth, thyroid and mineral metabolism disorders.
