Center for Athletic Rehabilitation and Educational Services (CARES II)
Our Center for Athletic Rehabilitation and Educational Services (CARES II) is home
to the Sports Medicine Center at Saint Peter's. The Center offers a multidisciplinary
approach that recognizes the unique relationship between orthopedic surgery and
sports medicine.
CARES II has a board-certified sports medicine specialist from Saint Peter’s University
Hospital and three in-house, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons from University
Orthopedic Group, who have extensive experience caring for professional, Olympic
and student athletes, as well as weekend warriors. The goal of the staff is to provide
patients with prompt diagnosis, comprehensive treatment and thorough rehabilitation.
Services
Patients treated at CARES II undergo an evaluation and learn why they were injured,
how to avoid suffering an injury in the future and how to continue training while
they heal. As part of their rehabilitation, patients undergo a variety of treatments,
which can include:
Educational Seminars
Sports education seminars are conducted through CARES II. Area coaches and trainers
are invited to attend and learn about techniques to help prevent sports-related
injuries as well as about rehabilitation programs.
Conveniently located at 562 Easton Avenue in Somerset, CARES II is open six days
a week. The Center's hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m. to
6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
