Better Stroke Treatment
Saint Peter's is designated as a primary stroke center by the New Jersey State Department
of Health and Senior Services. To earn this distinction, we succeeded in meeting
extensive criteria that included having a team of specialists available 24/7, time-to-treatment
protocols from the time someone enters our emergency department, the latest technology,
acute rehabilitation services, a neurosurgical team and more.
We also have a special unit that includes nurses, nursing assistants and other ancillary
staff that are educated in the care of stroke patients. All this allows Saint Peter's
to provide patients with the first line of defense in diagnosing and treating strokes.
