High-risk Pregnancy
The maternal-fetal medicine specialists at Saint Peter's provide unique and highly
skilled medical care to women experiencing high-risk pregnancy. Board-certified
perinatologists, geneticists, neonatologists, perinatal nurses, ultrasonographers
and other health care professionals combine expertise with state-of-the-art technology
and procedures.

- Fetal cardiovascular evaluation
- Fetal surveillance therapy
- Genetic testing and counseling
- Percutaneous umbilical blood sampling
- Pre-conception counseling
- Pregnancy loss evaluation
- Prematurity assessment and prevention

Our specialized units and services include:
- Perinatal Emergency Triage and Treatment Unit – This five-bed unit serves as an
“emergency room” for pregnant women. Problems are often resolved and women can return
home to complete their pregnancies.
- High-Risk Antepartum Unit – Pregnant women with chronic medical problems or complex
pregnancies are admitted to this 34-bed unit for observation and treatment in an
attempt to bring high-risk pregnancies as close to term as possible.
Pregnancy Loss Evaluation Service
Saint Peter's Pregnancy Loss Evaluation Service offers diagnostic services and treatment
to couples who have lost multiple pregnancies with the goal of bringing a pregnancy
to full term.
Infant Prematurity Assessment and Prevention Program
This program helps couples who have experienced a preterm birth deliver a healthy,
full-term baby. The high-risk pregnancy services are part of Saint Peter's
Women's Health Services.
